The direction and objective of our club is to promote sport skills and the development of junior players in the community of Pearsall and surrounding areas. If we were to be awarded the $2,000 grant, we would really like to focus that money on the training and development of our Coaches, Umpires and Players to ensure long term growth and improvement of skills with in our club.
We would love:
• To put all of our volunteering coaches through the Netball WA Foundation Coach Accreditation Course and all WDNA run coaches courses.
• Our NSG club umpires to become C Badge accredited and participate and attend all WDNA run umpire courses.
• Our ‘Head Coach’ to focus on compiling a ‘Coaches Manual’ inclusive of coaching requirements, fitness and skills drills and training lesson plans to ensure our volunteer coaches and team managers are supported in their role – the grant would go towards the printing requirements of this manual.
• We would also like to hold a ‘Pearsall Netball Club Skills Clinic’ for all of our playing members – this clinic would be run by external skilled accredited netball professionals (in conjunction with our own volunteer coaches) and would build and focus on specific shooting and footwork skills, ball handling skills, attacking and defensive skills, as well as game play and court movement. We would also like to invite playing members of the West Coast Fever team down to the club to run some drill sessions with our players and give them direction and core goals for reaching the top of their sport.
