We are a community based netball club with close ties to Settlers Primary School which is also where we hold our training sessions for all our teams. Ten years ago we started with only a couple of teams in the local competition and have grown to currently 12 teams entered in the Rockingham Districts Netball Association competitions with teams across NSG, Junior and Senior grades and divisions. The club is run by a small group of committed volunteers who have plenty of ideas to develop the club ranging from strengthening ties with the local community, developing the club’s sense of community through social events, improving communications by developing a website for the club, organising skill development sessions for our coaches and players, providing a yearly subscription to a netball skills development website for our group of coaches (first time initiative this year and we chose netball.tv). We are also currently looking into updating our uniforms from shirt/skirt to a newly designed A-line dress. The grant would be mainly be used to support skill development for our coaches with financial support for the Netball Australia accreditation courses (foundation, development and intermediate), as well as setting up a well thought out website with sections for parent player information as well as sections for our coaches and umpire development. Any left over funds would go towards purchase of game balls and equipment.
