(A bit of background!) In late 2018, Western Roar Netball Club was formed as one of seven franchise licensees of the newly revamped Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League. Our Club was borne from the long and rich history of Perth Lions Netball Region – we are accustomed to athletic success and driven both on and off the court by our Club Values of ‘United’, ‘Spirit’ & ‘Excellence’. Building Western Roar from the ground up and supporting our players and coaches to train & compete week in week out unfortunately does not leave us with surplus funds to invest back into the greater community. However this is something we consider to be important and worth striving towards.

Western Roar has the vision of establishing a regional netball program in remote areas of WA such as the Far North & Great Southern. We are currently in the process of forming an alliance with a West Australian Football League (WAFL) Club that already has established roots in these regions. We are excited by the opportunities this partnership will foster for netball within these isolated communities. The funding would be used towards providing equipment, court hire, promotional costs and travel to remote areas in order to encourage active participation in netball through grass roots clinics and developmental training programs.
